Essentially I did what the tutorial said but I used a harder smudge tool to make it look tie-dyesque. I also used exclusion for the fill on each layer and colored in the eyes to look more real. I didn't put the stripes on his body because it would make it very hard to see the swirly pattern on his body. Metal Texture to Skin
I made a brush metal texture in photoshop by making the background a shade of gray, adding noise, and then motion blur. Then I added light to make it look realistic.
Then I got a picture of me and applied the metal texture to my skin and added a little shading here and there and viola, there it is.
